NICMAR University Hosts Eighth International Conference on CRIP
Pune, August 30, 2024—The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) University organized its eighth International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (ICCRIP) on August 23-24, 2024, at its campus.
This year’s conference focused on six main categories: research papers, case studies, practitioners’ perspectives, doctoral colloquium, hackathon, and editors’ conclave. The central theme was Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Project Management (CRIP).
ICCRIP 2024 saw an enthusiastic turnout with over one thousand participants. Attendees included prominent industrialists, academicians, research scholars, industry practitioners, teachers, and students from engineering and architecture disciplines, both from India and abroad.
The conference received 465 papers, of which 250 were selected for presentation, according to a press release from NICMAR. This platform allowed participants to share knowledge and insights with leading industry professionals and veteran academicians.
The inaugural session on August 23 was addressed by Mark A. Thompson, PhD, President of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, USA. Keynote speakers included:
- Prof. Sergio Cavalaro, Associate Dean (Research and Innovation) and Chair of Infrastructure Systems at Loughborough University, UK.
- Jayant Kumar, Managing Director and General Manager at Hilti, India.
- Dr. Manoj Verman, a tunneling and rock engineering expert, Rocscience Representative, and President of the ISRM Commission on Hard Rock Excavation.
- Ashok Lavasa, Former Finance Secretary of India and former Vice-President of Private Sector and PPP at the Asian Development Bank.
Vikas Singhal, Chief Operations Officer at Godrej Properties, India, was the chief guest for the valedictory session.
ICCRIP 2024 provided a valuable opportunity for participants to discuss emerging trends, issues, and practices in the CRIP sector. The event was marked as a significant intellectual exchange and collaborative learning experience.
The conference’s success is attributed to the leadership of Dr. Anil Kashyap, Chief Patron and President of NICMAR; Dr. Sushma S. Kulkarni, Patron and Vice-Chancellor of NICMAR University; and the efforts of Dr. Rajni Kant Rajhans and the organizing committee.
