Pune Roads Paralyzed by Traffic Jams and Chaos After Heavy Rains

Pune faced a major traffic crisis during rush hour on Wednesday due to heavy rain and poor road conditions. The traffic police pointed fingers at the continuous rainfall, road damage, waterlogging, and construction work for the widespread traffic jams.

Numerous important roads like Sinhagad Road, Fergusson College Road, Shastri Road, Ganesh Khind Road, Baner Road, and various others in Hadapsar, Mundhwa, Chandan Nagar, Viman Nagar, and Tadi Gutta were all jam-packed with vehicles, causing long queues.”The incessant rain has really taken a toll on the road quality across the city. Potholes, slippery surfaces, and damaged upper layers have significantly slowed down vehicle speeds, leading to congestion on multiple routes,” explained an officer from the Traffic Control branch.
