Pune weather updates.

Pune Weather Update: Following a short break from rainfall at the end of July, Pune is preparing for a return of heavy downpours. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning, predicting intense rainfall for the area. Last week, Pune faced significant rain, resulting in waterlogging in low-lying regions and flooding in residential areas near Sinhagad.

The latest forecast indicates that Pune will experience a marked increase in rainfall in the upcoming days. The Meteorological Department has cautioned about heavy to very heavy rain across the state for the next four to five days.

Forecast for Heavy Rain:

Pune is set to receive moderate to heavy rainfall shortly, with substantial rain expected to begin tomorrow. Waterlogging is anticipated in several low-lying areas, and residents are urged to refrain from traveling in the ghat regions of Pune district.

Closure of Sinhagad Fort:

The heavy rains last week in Pune district have caused chaos, with the highest rainfall in 32 years. Flooding has exposed vulnerabilities in the municipal administration, but despite this, tourists are flocking to the area for monsoon tourism. However, a tragic accident at Bhushi Dam has led to the closure of dangerous tourist spots with flowing water, including Sinhagad Fort.

Due to landslides affecting the access road, Sinhagad Fort will be closed to visitors for one week. Road-clearing efforts are expected to take a week, ensuring visitor safety during this time.
