Maharashtra MPSC Civil Services Prelims 2024 Postponed Amid Protests; New Date to Be Announced

the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the postponement of the Maharashtra Gazetted Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024, originally scheduled for August 25.

The decision was made following protests by aspirants, and a new exam date will be announced in the near future.The MPSC notified the postponement via its social media channels, stating that the new date for the examination will be communicated soon. “In the commission meeting held today, it was decided to postpone the Maharashtra Gazetted Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2024, scheduled for August 25, 2024.

The exam date will be announced soon,” the MPSC posted on X.This marks the third time the MPSC has rescheduled the exam. Initially set for July 21, the exam was first moved to August 25. The latest postponement comes in response to protests by MPSC aspirants, who rallied outside Ahilya Library in Navi Peth, Pune, on August 20.

The aspirants’ main concerns include a scheduling conflict with the IBPS Clerk exams and the exclusion of 258 Agriculture Department posts from the current exam.As a result of the postponement, the MPSC will likely release new admit cards. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official MPSC website for updates.

The MPSC Civil Services Exam 2024 will consist of a preliminary test with 100 questions worth 200 marks, to be completed within two hours.

This preliminary stage is a qualifying round, followed by a main examination comprising six papers. Successful candidates from the prelims will advance to the main exam.
